So what exactly are eyelash extensions?

Haven’t you heard? Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are a year-round ‘must have’ for the fashion conscious! Lash extensions draw more attention to your eyes than mascara alone, and 24/7, so you’ll look fab when you wake up, after your workout, in the office, on the beach. One lash at a time, we’ll frame your eyes with a long, thick, luxurious set. Single strands of high quality silk lashes are applied onto your natural lashes to enhance and extend. Our lash artists can create any look you desire using a variety of extensions to build the right volume, length and curl for your unique style.

And what’s the difference between the types of lashes and looks?

Wink Lash Extensions are individual silk lash strands, curled like natural lashes – but better! They come in various lengths and thicknesses and are applied one extension fan to one natural lash. The look can be as natural or as dramatic as your natural lash base allows. The lashes are made up of hand made finer lash strands fanning out from the base and glued on to your natural lash one by one. They are nearly weightless and offer zero damage to your natural lashes but, are extremely feathery and full. They come in various lengths and only come in one thickness, keeping them at a safe weight. We specialize in the customization of your look created just for you!

What are Mega Volume Lashes? How do they differ from the rest?

Our Mega lash application is what we consider "the Bentley" of our lash extension line-up. Mega's are volume fans made of extremely fine lashes consisting of anywhere from 4-6 lashes per 1 of your natural lashes. This look creates a soft, extremely full lash line that has staying power for those girls looking to make a long lasting investment. They are sturdy yet soft and very lightweight. We recommend maintaining them with 3 week fills.

 

How long will my extensions last?

With proper care, your extensions will last 2-4 weeks. You should expect to shed most of them throughout the growth cycle of your natural lashes. We recommend coming by for fills when your extensions begin to look sparse. Be warned, lash extensions are incredibly delicate – so give them the TLC they deserve! Exposure to steam or extremely hot water, and touching, picking, or rubbing your lashes can weaken the adhesive bond on your extensions.

 

So what about these fills?

Fills are like touch-ups for your extensions. Performed regularly, they’ll keep your lashes looking full and luscious. You may need them more or less often depending on how well you look after your extensions, your natural lash cycle, and the style of your initial set. Typically, clients get top up fills every 2-3 weeks, however some clients prefer to replace their full set every 4-6 weeks. In order to qualify for a fill, you must have 40% of your Wink lashes remaining otherwise you will be rebooked for a full set. If you are a little rough on your lashes or are a newbie, you may want to schedule Quick fix fills at the 1 weeks mark after a full set for safe measure. It is always recommended to schedule your fills in advance as we tend to book out about 2-3 weeks in advance.

I can't get into my regular Wink stylist. Can I choose someone else at Wink to do my fill?

Absolutely! At Wink, all of our lash stylists are trained the same way using only our brand of lash products. Please keep in mind that while all of our stylists have been trained the same, lashing is an art and each stylist will produce their own style of lashes. By choosing any stylist, you agree to this. If you have a preferred stylist, we highly suggest rebooking with them or checking out our portfolio section of the website (Meet the Team) to choose another stylist who would be a good fit for you.

Can I schedule a lash fill if I have previously applied lashes from somewhere else?

We would love to convert you to our brand of lashes! We suggest scheduling a quick lash consult first so that our technicians can see the current lashes you have on. If they were well done, we can certainly work with them! If not and they are clumpy, too thick, or in bad shape, we will book you for a removal and full set.

 

Will it hurt?

No! When properly applied, lash extensions should NEVER hurt! Extensions are applied to your natural lashes, not touching the skin, so you shouldn’t feel a thing. With your eyes closed, you may even find the treatment so relaxing that you fall asleep! Well, you wouldn’t be the first...

 

How should I expect my extensions to feel?

To the untrained eye, no one will know you’re cheating on your natural lashes. And your secret is safe with us! Gone are the days of mascara clumps… Your lashes will be clean, separated, perfect! You should not feel any pain or discomfort in or around your eyes after the procedure. Allergies to the adhesive fumes can happen but, are very rare.

 

How long does it take?

We’re perfectionists here at Wink iBoutique. You can expect us to be meticulous, concentrated and precise. From design through application, the process will last approximately 120-150 minutes for a full set and varies by technician.

 

My lashes are sparse/short/fine/curly – will that be a problem?

Most clients are good candidates for lash extensions, no matter what their concerns. However, the style our artists will help you create may vary depending on your natural lashes. If you’re really concerned, consider a free consultation with one of our technicians to discuss a design that best suits your lashes.

Can I have eyelash extensions if my lashes are sparse, short, fine, or curly?

In the majority of cases, most clients' lashes are good candidates for lash extensions. However, there may be limitations to the type of look achievable if your natural lashes are particularly sparse, fine or curly. For example, a healthy, strong, and straight host lash is needed in order to attach the extension properly and lashes that have severe bends may not be viable for extensions.

Help! I got eyelash extensions from another salon and I‘m in pain/they look terrible/I just need to get them removed, pronto!

We would recommend contacting your previous salon or operator to have them removed prior to obtaining a new set by us. We have found that many inexperienced lash artist have been using hair glue or worse to apply lashes and our removers DO NOT work to remove that harsh glue. Once your lashes are free and clear, we would be happy to take over from there! We’ve rectified work by other salons many times and look forward to assisting you! * If you've received lashes from a reputable salon, we can likely work with them and successfully remove the unwanted lashes.

Can I have extensions applied to my bottom lashes?

Quite simply, no. Applying lash extensions to the bottom lashes would require clients to keep their eyes open. For safety reasons, we do not condone this practice.

 

Can I get a half set?

We get numerous requests for half sets, or “just a few in the corners.” Here at Wink iBoutique, that’s not really our style! More lashes add definition, fullness and longevity to your set. Incomplete sets are often difficult to blend in with your natural lashes, resulting in a look that appears unfinished. Trust us! We know our stuff!

 

Do I need to prep my lashes before I come in?

Yes, please! Make sure your eyelashes are squeaky clean – no traces of eye makeup – prior to your appointment. Use an oil-free make up remover if possible, and rinse well. ~Any traces of oil or makeup (especially mascara!) will create a barrier between the adhesive and your natural lashes, causing your extensions to drop off prematurely.~

Before your appointment:

  • If you use water proof mascara, avoid using it 2-3 days before your appointment. The film it leaves on your lashes may prevent the extensions from adhering correctly.

  • Arrive to your appointment with dry, clean lashes and free of makeup. The more time your Wink iBoutique™ lash stylist has to spend cleaning your lashes, the less time you have for the application = less lashes applied.

 

How do I care for my eyelash extensions?

To keep your lashes looking gorgeous as long as possible, we recommend you follow your technician's aftercare advice.

Wink Lashes are waterproof as soon as you leave the studio! Gone are the days of waiting to shower! 

 

  The key points:

  1. Avoid facial contact with spray tanning solution.

  2. Avoid exposing your lashes to and prolonged heat, as this can weaken the bond and cause the extensions to fall off. No steam rooms, saunas or Hot yoga!

  3. Only run a lash wand or brush through your extensions gently. If they are getting a little unruly, you may also separate and tidy your lashes using a toothpick, ideally after a shower.

  4. Avoid using oil-based products around your eyes including pencil liners, some eyelid primers, eye cream on upper lids, makeup removers or any remover that separates.

  5. Clean your lashes with our Wink Lash Cleanser foam and eyeshadow brush every day and pat dry with a tissue. This helps to remove and makeup, dirt, or oil collecting on the lashes which will improve the bond. DO NOT wipe lashes with a towel.

  6. Do not under any circumstances pull, pick, rub or remove the lash extensions!

During the initial 48 hours AFTER your appointment:

  • Avoid hot steam from showers, facials, saunas and swimming pools for the first 48 hours.

  • Avoid tanning beds or Spray tans for 48 hours after application and make sure your eyelashes and eye area are covered during application.

  • Avoid chemical peels, waxing or laser treatments around the eyes.

  • If you experience any pain, redness or irritation, contact your Wink iBoutique™ lash stylist immediately.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes! We work by appointment only. If you would like to schedule an appointment, the fastest way is online

or you can contact either of our locations directly. Please be sure to note our cancellation and rescheduling policy.

 

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy? 

Scheduled treatments are reserved especially for you. We understand that situations arise in which you must cancel your appointment. However, we require 24 hour advance notice in order to cancel or reschedule any service with no charge. If your appointment is not cancelled within this notification period, your appointment is considered confirmed. Any changes or cancellations made after the 24 hour window are subject to a 50% charge for each service. This policy also applies to gift card and certificate holders.

 

Late Policy

We do our very best to always be on time and accommodate most situations however, if you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to be on time for others whose appointments follow yours. Please note that we have a 15 minute late policy. Arriving 15 minutes after your appointment will be considered a no-show. As a courtesy and consideration to your lash stylist and other clients, please plan accordingly and arrive 15 min early to fill out paperwork or pre-clean your lashes at our lash cleansing stations. 

Refund Policy 

The services we offer are considered cosmetic and voluntary by the client. Our operators have extensive training, licenses and certifications in order to service our clients. We do not offer refunds on our services even for allergy. If you experience an irritation, itching or swelling please text us a clear photo within 3 days of your application to qualify for a free lash removal. If you decide that lash extensions are not for you, we completely understand however, we dedicated our time and materials to providing you with lashes by your request and therefore they will not be refunded or credited. Upon receiving any service by us, you will be required to agree to these terms via written waiver and this is strictly enforced.

Child Policy

Due to limited seating , safety , and respecting the environment for our guests we cannot have any child or pet (unless service dog) at our location.  We have sharp instruments and chemicals present. Our technicians provide adult services that are intricate, time consuming, and require much concentration. This is NOT a suitable environment for small children left unattended. This policy is in place to protect our business and our clients overall experience of relaxation in this environment.
